Abbiamo atteso che giungessero tutti in redazione i commenti, o meglio, le testimonianze di apprezzamento degli ospiti nei confronti delle organizzazioni coordinate da Giorgio De Salve Ria e Guido Allieri, che hanno permesso di far vivere nella maniera migliore i weekend fotografici del 13 e 20 settembre a Malpensa.
Naturalmente, da parte nostra, va reso un doveroso ringraziamento a tutti soggetti che, come ENAC, ENAV, SEA, Polizia di Frontiera e Dogana, hanno offerto l’immancabile supporto, dimostrando ancora una volta la fiducia che con orgoglio, tengo a dire, abbiamo conquistato nel tempo.

The only suggestion I have, is the one you already proposed yesterday as well: on the afternoon spot (opposite the control tower), to put the barrier some 50 metres more to the back, so that the zoom distances for shots on the taxiway are similar to those on the excellent spot near the de-icing station. Those pictures are really marvelous and with a perfect distance!
I really hope I can attend the event again in the future; make sure to inform me about a future apron tour! “Grazie mille” for this marvelous effort for the whole spotting community! I really couldn’t wish for more!

L’unico suggerimento che ho è quello che è ho già proposto ieri: sul posto del pomeriggio (di fronte alla torre di controllo), mettere la barriera di circa 50 metri più in fondo, in modo che gli zoom scattati sulla via di rullaggio siano simili a quelli nei pressi della stazione di de-icing. Quelle immagini sono davvero meravigliose e con una distanza perfetta!
Spero davvero di poter partecipare alla manifestazione anche in futuro. Informatemi su di un tour futuro. Grazie mille per questo sforzo meraviglioso per tutta la comunità spotting! Davvero non si poteva desiderare di più!

Fantastic day again on Sunday. Thanks for all the efforts you put in to organising things. I didn’t see any problems on the day so there is no apology required as far as I’m concerned. Everything was perfect – right down to the weather on the day and our driver who was happy to move the stairs from the side of the Kingfisher Airbus.

Many thanks for your follow-up. My brother and Peter may well respond separately but, personally, I thought the whole day was superb and easily the best of the four I have attended. I am not aware of any problem arising and would think anyone who suggests otherwise must have very high expectations. I had the very great pleasure of attending my first “Clipper” event last Sunday, together with my friends Barry and Gavin Homer.
I can say without any doubt that it was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding days I have ever spent since starting my hobby of civil aviation photography.
The organisation of the event was first class and trouble-free (a big Thank You to your colleagues for this) and the various locations around the airfield where we were allowed to gather to photograph the aircraft were second to none.
I very much hope that I will have the opportunity to again visit with you on a future “Clipper” day event – who knows maybe next year!

Ho avuto il grande piacere di frequentare il mio primo “Clipper” day questa domenica, insieme ai miei amici di Barry e Gavin Omero.
Posso dire senza alcun dubbio che è stato uno dei giorni più piacevoli e gratificanti che io abbia mai trascorso dal momento di iniziare il mio hobby della fotografia nel settore dell’aviazione civile.
L’organizzazione della manifestazione è stata di prima classe e senza problemi (un grande ringraziamento ai colleghi per questo) e le varie località intorno al campo dove siamo stati autorizzati a raccoglierci per fotografare gli aerei non sono stati secondi a nessuno.

Tour went well all things considered i think still too many to manage on the day although everyone seemed to behave well. Several suggestions from talking to the English spotters have filtered through that i can share with you as a possible help for future events.
The fact that this tour has become well established and known to all the respecting authorities -we still seem too lose much time in the processing of names etc before even getting to the bus. Granted you friend did a great job given such short notice but it seemed as if the Italian contingency had lots of difficulties in coordinating how to get all of us through the “system” efficiently.
I realise i dont fully understand the work involved but we felt with the experience of those overseeing us – by now it should be more stremlined.
Of course this then shortened the time airside and subsequently at the various stopping points we had limited time. This was compensated – i feel by the fact that MXP is much slower now for movements so not a great loss to most.
I would possibly recommend that for example one of the english spotters coordinates all english contingent as a sub group prior to our entry through customs and then feeds all the details etc back to yourself thus reducing the workload as your needing to speak to each individual-if you understand my thinking.
Also the decision to stop at the selected spots was wise in that T2 would be pointless and other areas just impractical.
To be fair to yourself (or rather the overseers) I think it went very well and some who were first time visitors felt it was worth it although i think they had hoped to stay airside longer (we began to leave grassy area just after 5pm and because of the late start some felt they missed out on key photos of planes that departed in the interim.
I decided to ask most english spotters if they would come again and yes was the majority response. so Guido it was a good result!
Some other points were raised or apparent as an observer but to be honest -its a huge task to organise so many people and stay within the regulations of MXP that you have done an exceptional job for us over the years-If only Heathrow would follow suit eh?
In breve questo spotter giunto da noi per il clipper international, fornisce alcuni suggerimenti per le future programmazioni:
reputa un pò eccessivo, pur conoscendo i limiti di sicurezza che ci circondano, l’attesa dal “check in” al punto di salita sul bus.
In conseguenza di ciò viene ovviamente limitato il tempo di sosta nei vari punti penalizzando parecchio l’attività.
Sicuramente ciò non giova all’organizzazione ; queste attese per fortuna, non penalizzano troppo anzi compensano i tempi di attesa appunto (scusa il gioco di parole) tra i vari traffici a malpensa che non sono tantissimi e pure lenti.
Consiglia di coordinare gli spotter inglesi tra un loro gruppo, dotato di portavoce madrelingua al fine di parlare una volta per tutte per loro stessi.
Credo di aver capito che reputa saggia la decisione di fermarsi al T2 ma non in certi punti considerati impraticabili (forse il prato esterno).
Cmq per essere giusti, anche nei confronti dei sorveglianti, reputa positiva questa esperienza per chi è stato il primo visitatore.
Ne è valsa la pensa anche se pensava di poter soffermarsi d+ come tempo ; le 5 del pomeriggio le reputa un pò poche come termine visita.
A causa di alcuni ritardi sono stati persi parecchi voli che si sono susseguiti e che ha visto dall’esterno.
Chiederà ad altri spotters inglesi di aderire a queste future iniziative per avere un miglior risultato.
Si complimenta per l’ardua impresa di organizzare un così ampio evento a MXP, un tale raduno in sicurezza non è facile da ottenere, prende spunto dicendo che sarebbe bellssimo se a Heatrow ci potesse essere una cosa del genere (quindi non c’è).

All the thanks should be towards yourself and your colleagues, I can quite honestly say that the day was in my opinion a perfect day. I am not aware of any small problems occurring throughout the day and I thought that the organisation of the event was faultless.
Talking with others after the tour had finished, we all had the same opinion which was that the day was well organised, great weather and great traffic – what more can anyone ask for. My personal thanks to yourself and colleagues in your dedication in arranging these events and sharing them with people around the world.
I absolutely would like to make a return visit in the future to attend other clipper days.

I would like to thank you for the great organistation of this event. Not only because it was the longest ramp tour I have ever had. It was also the best organised one. And it’s not easy to handle about 60 spotters.

But I have one suggestion for the next year(s). When standing at the cargo, where you’ve had the barriers (as well perfectly prepared with these ones) we were very close to the taxiway – too close for larger aircraft. There should be enough space to put the barriers 30-40 meters to the back, so that there is more distance to the passing aircrafts.
But again a big thank you for the great job you’ve done. And I hope to attend next year as well,

Ma io avrei un suggerimento per il prossimo anno. Quando eravamo all’area cargo, avevamo le barriere molto vicino alla via di rullaggio,troppo vicino per i velivoli più grandi. Ci dovrebbe essere spazio sufficiente per arretrare le barriere a 30-40 metri, in modo che vi sia più distanza dai velivoli di passaggio.
Ma ancora una volta un grande ringraziamento per il grande lavoro che hai fatto. E spero di partecipare anche l’anno prossimo,

I would like to say that my friend and I enjoyed a fabulous day with some great photo opportunities.
The day was certainly better than my previous visit because of the time we saved by not having lunch provided this time.
The only improvement would be to have the event over two consecutive days which would be awesome.
Vorrei dire che io e il mio amico ci siamo goduti una giornata splendida, con grandi opportunità fotografiche.
La giornata è stata sicuramente migliore della mia precedente visita.
L’unico miglioramento sarebbe quello di avere l’evento in due giorni consecutivi.
