| Like every year, the end of june is time for our
"classic" bus tour to Zurich Kloten Airport. Kloten, with its fine observation
deck should be considered as "Mecca" of the Italian aviation fans. We was 50
fans in our pilgrimage.... Weather at our latitude was excellent, unfortunately, as
usually happens, after the Alps it was raining.....bad news mainly for photographers.
After our arrival, we had a very long and interesting ramp tour was arranged by a bus
of the airport authority and with the help of our friend Ralph Kunadt. |

Classic Air DC-3

Ramp Tour
|
| We visited Swissair technical ramp, with a Crossair S.340 in
new colours, some SR MD-11's and both the fine CLASSIC AIR DC-3, ready for pleasure
flights over the mountains of central Switzerland. |

Crossair's new colours |

King of the skies |

Taxing from "close point of
view" |
| Second stop: the new long term ramp, in front of the terminal
B with the opportunity to walk around THAI MD-11, Malaysia B.777, Cathay Pacific A.340 and
the fabolous South African B.747SP in new colours, a fine plane that is becoming now a
"rare bird" on our airports. A visit to the new terminal under construction
gives us the opportunity to take close shots of all the aircrafts taxing to the terminals
just after landing. |

From observation deck
|
The afternoon on the observation deck. Some
"news": both BALAIR B.757 and the not so common AIR EUROPA B.767. |
Before head back to Milan, we stop our bus on the road
outside the airport close to the runways 14 and 16 used for landing. Great to see planes
on the air just seconds before touch down.
Goodbye to next year.... |
