After years of bad weather, the traditional Clipper day 2002, held on July 7th, Saturday, has a bright sunshine over our group of associates and friends on Malpensa Airport.
This year the program is:
Visit to perimetral road with several photo stops
Visit to ALITALIA B.767-3Q8ER EI-CRD
Visit to the Fire Brigade main base located between the two runways
Visit to EVA AIR CARGO MD-11
Great opportunity for the photographers: the tour on the perimetral road in the morning offers some excellent opportunities to take pictures of the planes rolling on the runway 35R
After the Photo session, it is time to ALITALIA TEAM B.767-3Q8 EI-CRD (previously with Eurofly and China Southern)
After Lunch at "mensa interaziendale ONAMA" near the old terminal 2, a big Red Bus carry the Clipperres to the Fire Brigade main base, located just in between the two runways in front of the Terminal 1.
An excellent briefing about the emergency procedures and then the personel of the Fire Brigade prepare a demonstration outside with all the equipment used to fight the fire.
Final appointment, late in the afternoon, with MDD MD-11 of EVA AIR CARGO. The excellent
opportunities to observe the unloading/loading operation, to discuss with the Captain
(from Australia) and to visit the main deck of the Cargo plane.
