CLIPPERs activities on Malpensa ramp have been suspended for several months after the tremendous events on September 11th 2001 and the followed increase in security. But now is time to start again with our aeroplane visits and ramp tours. Saturday May 25th was the first evening of this new era: "Johann Sebastian Bach" is waiting for us on stand Bravo 3. It is not the musician but our guest it is a quite new ALITALIA Airbus A.320, registered I-BIKA and named as the famous musician from Austria. Be sure that for our associates the kind of music that I-BIKA "Johann Sebastian Bach" can play by its two CFM-56 engines is as good as the one from the real J.S.Bach! The warm and quite evening on Malpensa ramp is for us: we board the plane trough the finger external stair and we can walk inside to admire the spacious passenger cabin with a 3+3 layout. After a technical briefing by Alitalia Technical supervisor, we can sit down in the Captains seat, to admire the new instrumental panel with 6 big screens and the two joysticks instead of the cloches to control the aeroplane via its modern "fly by wire" system. |
